Some Prior information, this is endgame content. For some steps, you may need to refer to JEI for the recipes.
Before you can begin, you'll need to craft a Rift Scanner, the Rift Scanner is a hand-held device that acts very similarly to a compass, but instead homes in on Rift Chunks. To locate a Rift Chunk using this device, simply right-click the rift scanner in your hand and follow the dial to your destination.
These can spawn in Rift Chunks, if you right-click on them they have a chance of either dropping a Coral Fragment, Paper or placing some Coral Blocks around it's area. You can also recharge the Sonic Screwdriver if you hold it and right-click the rift. You will need to obtain x10 Coral Fragments. Once you've got those, place them in a crafting table in a 3x3 format to get a TARDIS Coral.
Now that you have a TARDIS Coral you'll need to head to a rift chunk, you can begin to grow your TARDIS. To begin place soul sand and your TARDIS Coral onto it to start the process. Growing a TARDIS can take up to 10 minutes to fully grow so please be patient. Once the TARDIS has grown to a larger shell-shaped form you'll need to add a few things before it can become functional. You will need to craft a Coral Cage and right-click your TARDIS Coral with it and then do the same with 8 Plasmic Material.
Once the TARDIS has grown, it's time to give it a personality. Place a Matrix Energizer on a naturally spawned Sculk Shrieker, then right-click it with a Nether Star. Trigger the Shrieker to slowly fill a bar on the Energizer. When full, it breaks and drops a Personality Matrix. Finally, enter your TARDIS Coral and drop the Matrix into the water to begin the process and once you exit your TARDIS Coral, it should begin to dematerialize and after a short period of time rematerialize.
Now you have a TARDIS, but it needs a bit of maintenance to become fully functional. First, craft a Console Generator—this lets you pilot your TARDIS. Place it and right-click with a Sonic Screwdriver to turn it into a console. Next, craft and place an engine, or your TARDIS won’t work. By default, your TARDIS has low fuel, so it’s recommended to hit the refueler and let it charge up before flying. Once that’s done, you’ve got the basics to begin piloting!
Blueprints are required to craft certain items and can be found through exploration.
To use one, craft a Fabricator and place it on top of a Smithing Table.
Hold a blueprint in your hand and right-click the Fabricator to project the required materials. You can also hover over the blueprint in your inventory to view this info beforehand.
Once you've submitted the correct items, interact with the Fabricator to receive your item or block.
Note: blueprints can be reused.
The TARDIS console serves as the heart of the TARDIS, providing control over its many functions. It can be operated by players or other entities to navigate through time and space.
If you're struggling to locate the controls, you can use the Scanning Mode of your Sonic Screwdriver. If you're unsure what a control does, it’s recommended to avoid using it until you're familiar with its function to prevent unintended actions.
To activate any control, simply right or left-click. Some controls, like the throttle, require you to crouch to adjust them fully up or down, but will work with normal increments while standing.
The Throttle Control is used to take off, land and adjust your TARDIS's speed during flight. Crouch for full adjustments, or click normally for smaller changes. With Protocol 116 (Autopilot) enabled, speed adjustments are locked for safety. You can also use it to land early.
The Handbrake Control keeps the TARDIS stationary, useful for stopping takeoff or cancelling a takeoff. Simply activate it to lock the TARDIS in place and deactivate when ready to move or take off.
The Coordinate System consists of three controls: X, Y, and Z, each corresponding to an axis of your TARDIS’s position, used just like in vanilla Minecraft. Left-click to increase the increment from your current position, and right-click to decrease it.
The Increment Control works with the Coordinates System to adjust movement in 1, 10, 100, or 1000 increments. Left-click to decrease and right-click to increase the increment scale. For example, if the increment is set to 100, left or right-clicking will adjust the TARDIS by 100 units each time.
The Dimension Control allows you to change your TARDIS's destination to a different dimension. Simply right-click to cycle through available dimensions. This control is ideal for interdimensional travel.
The Fast Return Control sets the TARDIS destination to the last location it landed. Right-click to activate fast return, and click again to reset the destination to your current location. Perfect for quickly getting back to familiar spots!
The Exterior Facing Control changes the TARDIS exterior’s direction when landing. Left or Right-click to cycle through North, East, South, and West.
The Anti-Gravity Control makes the TARDIS exterior immune to falling, but it uses Artron Energy while active.
Toggles the TARDIS alarms between active and inactive.
Switches the TARDIS engines off and turns the power off, rendering most of the console non-functional. If activated while other controls are on, it will disable those controls.
The Door Switch toggles the door between Open and Closed
Toggles the Door between Locked and Unlocked. This can be toggled either from the console of if you have a Linked TARDIS Key.
When the handbrake is engaged refuel mode can be toggled on. When active slowly refuels Artron Energy outside Rift Chunks. The refuel process is boosted when within a rift chunk.
This control randomizes the destination coordinates based on the increasement control setting.
Used to locate nearby structures, the Telepathic Circuits can also link specific items, including TARDIS keys, to the TARDIS. Simply shift-click with the selected item to link it.
The shields control has 2 modes:
Invisible - Invisible Shields block liquids and block you from getting sucked out into the vortex if your doors are open, activate them by right-clicking once.
Visible - Visible Shields block any players under the companion loyalty level from entering your TARDIS, they also destroy any projectile that goes it's way and will push back any type of entity.
Note: If you're flying without autopilot, it's recommended to place the Sonic Screwdriver (in Scanning Mode) in the Sonic Port. This will show you which buttons to press to avoid crashing when Flight Events occur.
Protocols are controls on the TARDIS console designed to make your journey easier. Below are the protocols explained to help you understand the functions they serve when activated.
To locate where these controls are on the console, use the Sonic Screwdriver while in scanning mode.
🛡️ Protocol 1913 (AKA Siege Mode)
Siege Mode is a last-resort defense that shrinks the TARDIS into a fortified state, sealing the doors and preventing any entry or exit. It requires fuel to activate and does not consume Artron energy while engaged, as all systems, including life support, shut down—causing extreme cold. Wearing leather armor is recommended to prevent freezing.
While in Siege Mode, the TARDIS becomes lightweight and can be picked up by others from the outside. To prevent this, activating the handbrake is strongly advised.
👁️🗨️ PROTOCOL 3 (AKA Cloak Mode)
Cloak Mode is designed to keep the TARDIS hidden for stealth, making its exterior invisible to the naked eye. It will only reveal itself when a pilot with a linked TARDIS key is nearby, becoming more visible as they approach.
This function consumes Artron energy over time, so ensure you have plenty before activating it!
🕹️ Protocol 116 (AKA Autopilot)
Autopilot allows the TARDIS to navigate the time vortex automatically, charting the safest course, which may not always be the quickest. Due to its focus on safety, this protocol requires no additional piloting during flight and will take you to your destination without any extra steps. It also consumes extra Artron energy, so make sure you have enough fuel before activating it.
⏳ Protocol 813 (AKA Hail Mary)
When toggled on from the console, and with the handbrake disabled, Hail Mary Mode allows the TARDIS to rematerialize around the pilot in immediate danger of death to save them from certain doom.
This protocol requires Artron energy, so ensure the TARDIS has enough fuel before activating it.
🔑 Protocol 19 (AKA Isomorphic Security)
Activate Protocol 19 from the console with a linked key. Once enabled, only those with a linked key can interact with the console, while others are completely locked out. In the security menu, you can adjust the loyalty ranking required for console access and also toggle whether members without a linked TARDIS key should be left behind during takeoff.
💥 Protocol 000 (AKA Self Destruct)
Self-Destruct cannot be triggered via its own button. Instead, give the TARDIS a Nether Star through the telepathic circuits. This will display the message "SELF DESTRUCT INITIATED ABORT SHIP" to everyone inside. Once all personnel have vacated the TARDIS, it locks itself, and the TARDIS star within goes critical, resulting in a medium-sized explosion where the TARDIS was.
⚠️ Note: Self-destructing is permanent—once activated, the TARDIS is lost forever. It’s recommended to use Protocol 19 or only allow trusted individuals inside your TARDIS. This action cannot be undone.
🚨 Protocol 515 (AKA Artron Dump)
This can be use for emergency escapes. Why? It dumps all your artron and immidetly travels to your destination, but (as a side effect) it does 1000 damage to each Circuit (aside the Gravitational circuit).
⚡ Protocol 54 (AKA Protective Surge)
It produces an electric shock around the exterior, if someone is near to the “electrocution zone”, it gives them a the following effects as a result;
Darkness, Slowness, Poison, Weakness, Hunger, Mining Fatigue, Regeneration
By default, The Nether and The End are locked to add balance. To unlock The Nether, simply right-click the Telepathic Circuits with a Blaze Rod. For The End, the Ender Dragon must be defeated. Once done the End will unlock for everyone with a TARDIS.
The Sonic Screwdriver is a handheld tool for various tasks, such as interacting with TARDIS consoles and repairing your TARDIS.
Sonic Modes
Inactive Mode – Powers off the Sonic Screwdriver, serving as a power-saving state.
Interaction Mode – Allows the Sonic Screwdriver to ignite candles, campfires, and unlit torches.
Overload Mode – Enables the Sonic Screwdriver to ignite TNT and toggle redstone lamps.
Scanning Mode – Displays console controls when looked at, reveals the amount of energy in Rift Chunks, shows subsystem durability, and can be placed into the Sonic Port to display Flight Events, preventing crashes when autopilot is disabled.
TARDIS Mode – When outside the TARDIS but within a 256-block radius, you can summon your TARDIS to your location. While inside the TARDIS Looking up triggers dematerialization, while looking down activates the handbrake and enables refueling for the TARDIS.
Craft the Sonic Screwdriver using the blueprint.
An unlinked sonic has very limited functionality. To link the Sonic Screwdriver, right-click the Sonic Port. To charge it, insert it into the Sonic Port. Once it runs out of charge, it will remain in Inactive Mode until recharged. Punch the Sonic Port to remove it once charged.
To customize your Sonic Screwdriver, place it into the Sonic Port and access the Monitor on the console. Go to Settings, then click on Sonic Settings to change its appearance, choose from different casings, and view additional details like its current Artron energy and the TARDIS it’s linked to.
If your TARDIS is damaged, the Sonic Screwdriver offers an alternative way to repair. Simply hold it (in any mode) and right-click the TARDIS Exterior. The Sonic will insert into the "keyhole," speeding up repairs, usually taking around 25 seconds. Right-click again to check the remaining repair time. Once finished, you'll be able to use Shift + Right-click to eject. This doesn’t replace your interior.
